Winter Solstice Celebration and Spiral Dance

​Lantern Festival Celebration

The performers of the boys and girls schools of the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas celebrated the Chinese Year of the Snake, February 26, 2013.


This event in downtown Ukiah featured the Lion Dance, Umbrella Dance, Kuan Yin Dance, Dragon Dance, Drum Dance, plus performances by the boys and girls Chinese orchestras featuring traditional instruments. The students honor youth and elders of local community in 2 events each year. At these times they perform similar dances, music, songs and dramas.

​Kinetic Carnivale

& Steam Punk Faire

In September of 2012, the Mendocino County Museum sponsored a steam punk event that included kinetic carnival handcar races, a crafts faire, entertainment, train rides and a spectacular Grand Ball featuring regional bands, fire dancers, and aerial silk performers.

This was successfully repeated in September, 2013, and 2015
